Da passt es ganz gut, dass Leipzigs finest Map.ache gerade sein erstes Artistalbum auf Kann Records rausgebracht hat. Daraus den alles überstrahlenden Gewinnertrack herauszupicken ist sowieso ein Ding der Unmöglichkeit, deswegen hier das ganze Werk in Auszügen. Ein Track den ich ziemlich lange nichtmehr angehört oder gespielt habe. Trotzdem ist er doch irgendwie immer mit dabei und wartet auf seinen Einsatz. Wahrscheinlich, wen es mal wieder sehr spät wird und der Vibe mit allem drum und dran stimmt. Aufgrund des vielen darin enthaltenen Soul einer meiner Favorites aus dem Bereich.

A track I haven’t heard and played for a while. Altough it’s always with me somehow, waiting for it to be played. Most probably that will be when it’s getting really chilled out and late sometime and the vibe is right. Because of all the soul in it, it’s been one of my favorites from that genre ever since.

Und es ist einer dieser Fälle, in denen sich die B-Seite als der langsam, aber unaufhaltsam wachsende Gewinner herausstellt.

In Erinnerung an ein im wahrsten Sinne einzigartiges Live-Erlebnis gibt’s hier jenes Video, mit dem für Reggie Watts der Rummel begann. Dieser erste TV Auftritt gibt einen Eindruck davon, was ihn auszeichnet. Jede Performance ist einmalig, alles ist reine Improvisation. Am Sonntag war er im Festsaal Kreuzberg zu Gast und das erste Mal in Deutschland. Als mich Marcel am Nachmittag anrief weil er noch Tickets übrig hatte war nicht lange fackeln. Auf jeden fall wurde es ein erstaunlicher Abend!

In memory of a truly unique live experience, here’s the video of how Reggie Watts got it all started. This first appearance on TV gives a slight idea of what he’s up to. Every performance is inimitable and pure improvisation. On Sunday he was a guest at Festsaal Kreuzberg and in Germany for the first time. When Marcel gave me a call because he had some spare Tickets there was no time for hesitation. It definitely became a mindblowing evening!
